What is it like to have a Mesotherapy treatment?
Each person may have a different perception of the process, but after the initial consult with Dr. Beaty, the objectives of the treatment are discussed. Prior to your appointment, you should drink plenty of water. The areas are marked and anesthetic cream is placed on the skin. After a period of time, cold packs are placed on the skin. The injections are performed by Dr. Beaty and the medication is placed into the skin using a very tiny needle. The cold packs are then placed again on the skin for approximately 15 minutes. You are given some water to drink, and then you can go home.

Most people perceive this as being relatively painless.

So the procedure is relatively painless? How about afterward?
Good question. Expect the area to be sore and swollen for approximately two days. There can also be bruising. We recommend Arnica cream or gel to help with this. If you have a low pain tolerance or are concerned about post procedural discomfort, Dr. Beaty can prescribe an analgesic medication.

When you return in two weeks, the bruising should be gone, and hopefully inches will have disappeared.

How many mesotherapy treatment are necessary?
It depends on the amount of inches one wants to lose. It also depends on your specific metabolism. Many people are satifisfied within three treatments. Others may need ten treatments.

Is this treatment administered by a technician?
Absolutely not. Dr. Beaty will adminster these treatments. The only exception is when an ASAM certified Registered Nurse trainer is present. We feel that mesotherapy is a medical procedure and that your treatment should be administered by one who can help in the unlikely event a complication arises.

Do you treat all my fat areas at the same time?
No. We are mobilizing toxins from the fat cells and injecting too great of an area could cause you to be ill. We strive to treat both sides of a person; for example, the love handles, saddlebags, buttocks or abdomen to name a few.

What other areas do you treat?
Two very popular areas are the fat pads under the eyes and the chin area. Virtually anywhere there is unwanted fat or cellulite, mesotherapy can help.

Who cannot have Mesotherapy?
People who are insulin-dependent diabetics, pregnant, those with a history of blood clots, recent cancer or stroke. Also, people who are on multiple medications for heart disease are not candidates.
